M'Ocean Grant'd Report 7/2/2012 through 7/4/2012

Hello and Happy Belated 4th of July everyone.

The fishing here in south florida is on FIRE!

Albies-they are everywhere from 80 to 150 feet and can quickly be chummed up with silversides or small chunks of spanish sardines. I think this past weekend we caught over 15 of them many over 15 pounds. They are hitting general bait fish patters, clousers, deceivers basically anything that you can get in front of thier face.

King fish-the numbers have dropped off just a little but the size has really increased. we had one push 34 pounds and hit a pink and white king fish fly in 110 feet.

Snook- I got to the beach this wekend and on the 4th and did a little snorkling. I saw and got to swim with some HUGE snook off the beach in the Jupiter/Juno area. This are BIG females that come in to breed in the summer. PLEASE handle them with care!!!! There are plenty of sharks in the surf so make sure the snook you release is in good shpae for letting her go. My rule of thumb is that I put my thumb in the snooks mouth and when she starts sucking on it shes ready to be released.

Boat or no boat the fishing is great.

Tight Lines,

Grant

ps-I have some flies left for sale on my website and have a few dates open to fish with me for the summer if anyone wants to go. Check out the website for all the information.
