Ihave never had any formal training in the craft, but photography has been a serious hobby of mine for over 20 years.

My wife and I love to fly fish for both freshwater and saltwater species, and as she joins me on most excursions, she and her fish often become my photographic motifs. While I enjoy capturing the typical “fishing shots,” I much prefer the more candid or impromptu images of both the people and wildlife. They’re are always such important elements of each trip.

Many of my images are black and white, chiefly because I’ve always loved the aesthetics and simplicity of good black & white images, but also because I’m severely red & green colorblind and it’s much easier for me to work with shades of grey.
