Don Reed’s Saltwater Flytyers at Oyster Creek Outfitters will celebrate its official grand opening on Saturday, August 20 – day-long festivities will feature demonstrations, fly-casting, fly tying and a cookout. You’re invited!

Headlining the affair are noted fly-fishing celebrities Drew Chicone and Joe Mahler

Chicone, an award-winning writer and certified casting instructor from Fort Myers, is the author of Snook Flies and Redfish Flies.

Mahler, also an author from Fort Myers, has written for Fly Fisherman Magazine, Salt Water Sportsman, Outdoor Life, Fly Tier and other publications. He is the author and illustrator of Essential Knots & Rigs for Trout and Essential Knots & Rigs for Salt Water.

Don Reed and the talented Oyster Creek Outfitters staff will be on hand to answer questions about all of the gear.

• Meet local anglers and guides such as James Dumas and Tim Boothe.

Also expected to be on hand are vendors from Temple Fork Outfitters, Mustad, Loomis, Patagonia and Hardy among others

Much of the activity and instruction will take place on the banks of the Oyster Creek pond, adjacent to the new shop at 314 S. Ponce De Leon Boulevard US 1, 32084 in St. Augustine. The cookout is from noon until 2 p.m.
