The Art of Artifice: A Photographic Exploration of the Catskill Fly Tyer’s Craft

An exhibition at the Erpf Gallery at the Catskill Center features professional photographer and fly fishing guide Mark Loete’s large, macro photographs of the trout flies. The show includes 40 images of exquisitely crafted fishing flies, celebrating the centuries-old fly tying tradition and the master artisans who fabricate these jewel-like miniature sculptures out of feathers, fur, and thread. The Catskill Center is located in Arkville, NY and works to protect and foster the environmental, cultural and economic well-being of the Catskill region.
