next, walking or in a vehicle. Too many rod tips get unnecessarily broken while being carried from one location to the next, especially when on foot.

You can choose to walk with the rod pointing away, or pointing behind you. When you get to you new destination and before you cast – check to see that the rod pieces are seated properly.

This really short video by Orvis shows how the set-up for transporting a rigged rod works. It’s simple and almost fail-safe, and when you get to your new honey-hole you will be fishing in a few seconds.
