Please tell me the truth; is there going to be the Best Idea still?
No, Virginia, the White House, and too many legislators seem to have been born constitutionally incapable of being honest with the Ameican people. They have, thus far, failed to link America’s greatness with public lands.
They remain affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age, poisoned by ideological backwardness, and resentment of past presidents’ environmental accomplishments.
Virginia, Washington does not believe in the “The Best Idea Ever.” And yet they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. And thus, it must be torn down, ripped apart and shredded for their little minds to feel exalted.

Like the poacher, the legacy of “little minds” is already written. They stole public lands for their friends who trashed them and then, they left office
In this great country of ours, the little minds feel measured if they can take away the public’s lands. Steal from you, Virginia, places where you hunt and fish like your forbearers did. Wide open spaces of wildness where you can remove yourself from the human saturation of life – introduce your children to it so they can introduce theirs, and theirs, theirs.
Alas! How dreary will America become if we only have these little minds to govern. It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginia’s.
