Designed with the mobile fisherman in mind
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Day Tripper backpack is designed for on the go anglers who want safe and convenient portable storage for their day’s fishing gear. KastKing has succeeded in their attempts to maximize the space allowed to them in the design of the Day Tripper. In short, it has pockets and compartments everywhere.
Other features of the Day Tripper are a rip-stop water repellent nylon construction and self repairing zippers and with rugged pulls. Also, there are integrated D-rings for attaching pliers, line clippers, or other tools. I recently encountered some really quality striped bass fishing on the shores of Long Island and brought the Day Tripper out for a few day while the bite was really hot on the beaches. It took me a little bit of time to get all of my gear placed exactly where I wanted it in or on the bag. Once I did get everything dialed, I found it really helped me organize myself and my gear. I knew right where everything was. My iPhone, clippers, tippets, fly boxes, sunglasses, gum, water bottle, and other assorted items each had there own safe storage spot. Both the backpack and the fish cooperated. Success!

This is the first piece of “luggage” I have reviewed from KastKing so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The Day Tripper is really well thought out and constructed very nicely with much attention to detail and comfort. If you are in the market for a fishing backpack for your days on the rivers, lakes or beaches, consider the Day Tripper. It is reasonably priced, it looks pretty sharp and it’s a lot of fun.
