The Destroyer Fly, a “searcher” nymph fly

This fly might tie beautifully as a tube fly, and we think it will present better in that format; the jury is out.
BTW: I plan to get a camera set up to show my tube versions of some of the flies turn out well as fish-catchers in my home waters in North Georgia or South Florida if they “interview” well enough for more testy battlefronts, saltwater.
This Matt O’Neal Destroyer fly looks like a winner to me and some tying friends. Look for a coming report on this fly. My friend and fishing partner, Angie Roth, has hook ties and tube tie versions in #8 and 1/0. She’ll be heading north to the family property, Eberle Farmstead on the Georgia/North Carolina border this weekend. We should get a report next week?

- Hook: #10-16 nymph
- Thread: Black
- Tail: Wild boar (or substitute)
- Rib: Gold wire
- Body: Orange yarn
- Wingcase: Peacock herl
- Hackle: Grizzly dyed yellow
