[dropcap]W[/dropcap]hen I was manager of Urban Angler in Manhattan over a decade ago, we sold this fly like hot cakes. We simply called it the Flats Fly. Here are the instructions for the same pattern, here titled Greg’s Flats Fly. Like the author says, they work well on wary bonefish. They land soft, sink a little bit and move well in the water to create a life like shrimpy critter. I don’t go bonefishing without them in the box. I like olive, tan and pink personally. Size 4-6. Tie a few before your next trip south of the border.
