Position Description

The Development and Events Coordinator works closely with the Director of Development and Communications to plan and execute successful events and other fundraising efforts that support Bonefish and Tarpon Trust.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Development and Events Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of planning BTT’s fundraising events, including event and collateral development, promotion and marketing of events, budget management, auction and event program, logistics, registration, and post-event donor/sponsor acknowledgments. The Development and Events Coordinator is the primary point person for coordination with event committees, speakers and attendees as well as outside vendors, and supports other staff member efforts to secure event sponsors, speakers and auction items.

The Development and Events Coordinator also provides administrative support to the Director of Development and Communications in other fundraising efforts, including donor research on individual, corporate and foundation prospects; donor mailings, including mid-year and end of year donor mailings, stewardship reports and thank-yous; and other tasks as assigned.  The position reports to the Director of Development and Communications.

Qualifications

Requirements for the Development and Communications Coordinator position include a Bachelor’s degree and minimum of three years related experience in events planning, fundraising, marketing or a related non-profit field; proficiency in word processing and database management; strong communications, organization, planning and problem solving skills; experience negotiating purchases and basic agreements with vendors; and ability to thrive in a small office environment and work in a collaborative role with others.
