[dropcap]V[/dropcap]aughn Cochran grew up in St. Augustine, Florida and was into art day one. After college he was a medic in the Army, then a commercial fisherman, guide in Key West and musician at night. He ended up doing a series of gigs with Jimmy Buffett. He’s been involved with the Black Fly Bonefish Club at Schooner Bay, Abaco, Bahamas and Bimini Big Game Club Resort and Marina.
His art background: Vaughn’s current groups of pencil drawings, watercolors, mixed media, acrylic and oil paintings would be classified as contemporary sporting art and fish art and represents the last 20 years of his work. He was trained as a fine artist, taught at a university and his portfolio now spans over 40 years.
Vaughn is a multifaceted artist; skilled in oil painting and watercolor, ceramic sculpture, art pottery, printmaking, intaglio, silkscreen, woodcarving, batik and metal working and casting.
