[dropcap]S[/dropcap]ingle hooks are great but large trout often succumb to the tandem streamer fly. One, really big fish don’t eat mayflies; two, single hook patterns are not the best at ambulating naturally; three, a stinger on an articulated catches mo-betta.
NOTE: An articulated tube fly might just be the best way, but more on that in another post.
In this video Jay Nichols demonstrates two quick ways to setup for tying an articulated fly pattern. To make it work you’ll have to use your good vise and a spare vise. It’s a pretty cool way to tie – fast.
