[dropcap]I[/dropcap] love using flat wing patterns when stripers are on sand eels. When tied correctly, they have a movement that is unmatched.  They swim beautifully in the water. This particular recipe is simple, time efficient, and effective. In this instructional video, Jari Koski uses a sparse approach which is key to the sand eel equation. Some tyers prefer the natural look of jungle cock eyes over synthetics but both options present well. This pattern can be tied for stripers and many other species from a size 2 to a size 3/0. We use them frequently on the flats as well as in deep water applications. [youtube id=”LFA07RaziUc” width=”620″ height=”360″]
