Casting for Recovery participants find joy and fellow travelers

Fly fishing is more than just a saltwater or cold-water pastime—it’s a quiet reset for the mind. The rhythm of casting, the focus on water and movement, and the absence of civilization’s cacophony reward patience over perfection. Even without landing a bonefish or trout, the experience remains memorable. Fresh air and total immersion naturally lift your mood, leaving no crash—just an addictive clarity and an irresistible urge to return.

The mission of Casting for Recovery (CfR) is to empower women in treatment or recovery from breast cancer through oncology-informed retreats. These retreats connect women with each other and with nature through the therapeutic sport of fly fishing—and are offered at no cost to participants.
