[dropcap]T[/dropcap]housands of local anglers will be lured to fly-tying seminars, casting demonstrations and aisles full of the newest rods during this weekend’s annual Fly Fishing Show.

The annual showcase at the Best Western Royal Plaza Trade Center is the kickoff to angling season for many expert and novice fishermen, said Bennett Mintz, public relations manager for the show.

“They’re all there because they’re really into fly fishing,” said Mintz. “They’re really crazy fly fishermen. We’ve had enormous, enormous growth in people attending.”

The show will feature more than 150 exhibitor booths showcasing the latest in foreign and domestic tackle and rod equipment, clothing, accessories and fly fishing resorts and lodges, said Mintz.

“There’s something new every year,” Mintz said of the fly fishing industry. “That’s why people go to the show. Every year there’s a new wrinkle.”
