[dropcap]J[/dropcap]ack Gartside’s Sparrow is a proven attractor, looking like several “bugs” but mimicking nothing exactly. Jack’s Sparrow fly really does not need to be elevated by anyone because it is a proven attractor and travels very well in almost any trout waters.
Gartside’s recommended hook sizes were #4 to #14 with nymph hook using pheasant feathers. Tim Flagler (Tightline Productions) uses Dai-Riki 730 1X strong, 2X long and Brahma hen capes and soft hackle with Chick-a-Bou® pelts (Whiting Farms). The fly looks fishy.
