[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he latest educational project from RIO is its new “How To” video series – a 12 episode series that takes fly fishing education one step further. The idea behind the project is to create a series of short educational films that show fly fishers how to either fish a certain style or learn a new cast. Each film talks about the relevant gear needed, shows any special rigging techniques, explains how to read the water, and how to fish that particular method.
Scheduled to be launched at the beginning of each month, the first episode of RIO’s “How To” series, starts with RIO brand manager Simon Gawesworth, explaining one of the simplest, and most effective ways to fish for trout in a river; “How To Fish a Soft Hackle” (to watch scroll down).
Over the coming year RIO staff and ambassadors, with years of experience in fishing and teaching, host episodes with such diverse subjects as “How To Mend”, “How to Learn to Double Haul”, “How To Set The Hook”, and “How To Fish A Dry Fly.” As each video goes live, it can be found on RIO’s “How To” video . . .
