TFO promotes three longtime employees to leadership positions

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]emple Fork recently announced three promotions of long-time employees to leadership positions. “It’s my pleasure to recognize the positive commitment Larry Simmons, Nick Conklin and Collins Illich have each made to TFO by expanding their areas of responsibility. Each is a tenured member of TFO and brings significant experience and passion to their new leadership roles,” said TFO president Frank-Paul King.    

Larry Simmons has been named Chief Financial Officer after serving as the company’s Controller for the past decade. Larry will be responsible for all financial, accounting and related matters. During his tenure with TFO, Larry has been instrumental in overseeing the accounting, tax and risk-management functions. He has also been an experienced voice with respect to IT expansion and overseeing intellectual property protection. Larry hails from Louisiana and has never lost his passion for bass, as well as inshore fishing.      

Nick Conklin has been promoted to Fly Fishing Category Manager with a focus on two-handed fly rods and fly reels. Nick will be responsible for sales and product development for these market segments. Since joining TFO in 2012, Nick has coordinated trade and retail show participation, and his commitment to the two-handed fly fishing segment have always made him a key source of knowledge. His Axiom II Switch rod design garnered international attention when it won the EFTTEX Best of Show and the IFTD Best 2-Handed/Spey Rod awards in 2018. Nick grew up fishing for steelhead and trout in and around the Great Lakes. Outside of TFO, Nick’s articles and photography have appeared in Field & Stream Magazine, The Drake, Lone Star Outdoor News, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram and other regional and national publications. 

Collins Illich has been promoted to Fly Fishing Category Manager with a focus on single-handed fly rods. Collins will be responsible for sales and product development for this market segment. He has worked with TFO for the past decade and most recently as Bass Fishing Category Manager. There he led a complete overhaul of the product line and sales organization. In this expanded role, he brings significant industry experience having previously been involved in management in retail sales and manufacturing. Collins is a life-long fishing addict having guided in Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico.
