This doesn’t look like Montana? No, it’s the Rio Marié Lodge and the barge called “Untamed Amazon” is anchored in the Amazon River in Brazil. A Rio Marié Lodge image.

[dropcap]R[/dropcap]io Marié, in Brazil, is the first and largest fly-fishing-only area located inside an indigenous territory in the Amazon basin. Developed with the cooperation of the Native Communities and South American outfitters, Untamed Angling, Rio Marié encompasses 400 miles of pristine waters, including more than 180 known creeks, 60 lakes, and three major tributaries. Studies have shown the waters of the Rio Marié to be home to some of the largest peacock bass in the world. Untamed Angling’s vision for Rio Marié Lodge is based on partnering with the local indigenous population. Anglers are guided by teams of professional fly fishing experts and local native guides working together.

Guests visiting Rio Marié stay aboard the Untamed Amazon, the most technologically advanced ship in the Amazon. To reduce environmental and social footprint, guest capacity is limited to small groups. Accommodations are modern and comfortable with an experienced staff that provides the perfect mix of local and international dishes accompanied by fine wines. Rio Marié masterfully blends jungle wilderness with the highest expectations in service and accommodations to create a unique and enriching fly fishing experience deep in the heart of the Amazon.

Rodrigo Salles about Untamed Angling:

“Untamed Angling is proud to receive the Winston Preferred Lodge  title for our project in the Amazon – Rio Marié – River of Giants. Our relentless pursuit of the very best fly fishing destinations to be found in the wild side of South America, especially the Amazon Jungle, is opening new doors in fly fishing world. Rio Marié follows the same concept that is our benchmark for developing  flyfishing destinations; working in complete association with Indian communities and the Government Indigenous Institutions. We are committed to offering a new level of service in Peacock Bass fishing in the Amazon and are extremely glad to be selected as a WINSTON PREFERRED LODGE.”

Watch this and deal with man, I gotta go there now!
