The layout is straightforward with one large compartment, 2 padded dividers, and 2 small zip pouches. It also has what we coined “the important stuff pouch,” a large clear zip pouch that folds out and lays over the top of the interior. We put lighters, keys, phones, etc… in there for safety and quick easy access. Aesthetically, it is simple and attractive, adorned with rugged YKK water repellant zippers, shoulder strap and handle, and two accessory attachments (ie.tippet spools, nipper, etc…). It measures at 17.5″ x 10″ x 12.5″ (1405 cu. inches) and weighs in at just under 3 and half pounds.
It is hard to find much fault with this bag without seeming really nit picky and that is what I would expect from a premium priced bag from industry vets like Fishpond. Some budget minded people will moan about the price ($219.95) but if you are looking for a boat bag with quality craftsmanship throughout from a company with longstanding integrity in this industry, look no further than the Westwater.
