[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he 25th annual Redbone Celebrity Tournament kicked off November 2 on a beautiful calm night at the Islander Resort at mile marker 83 oceanside in Islamorada. And while the setting was beyond compare, inside serious business was being discussed – what it was going to take to find the cure for cystic fibrosis.
Generous foundation representatives from the Hard Rock Cafe, Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins, and private donors Joe Viar and Bonnie Christ of Alexandria, Va., dug deep and gave between $2,000 and $10,000 respectively to the cause.

) represented by Brouwer Moffitt announced a perpetual fund which would have the Redbone’s sole input as to how the charitable money was spent.
