Petition: Help us stop the spearing of tarpon in federal waters

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]arpon are being purposely (and legally) speared in the federal waters of the Gulf of Mexico by the hundreds!

FlyLifeMagazine.com has launched an effort to persuade the fisheries management commissions to enact regulations that would protect, enhance and preserve the migratory tarpon populations in the Gulf of Mexico.

Healthy tarpon populations have a massive economic impact in each of the Gulf States. Millions of dollars are generated through revenues brought in by captains and dollars spent by sportsman. Purposely killing this migratory species decreases the revenue potential for all states.

Those who have grown to appreciate these iconic fish need to advocate for their survival by requesting protection for tarpon in the federal waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Please help us stop the killing and spearing of tarpon.
