[dropcap]Y[/dropcap]ou do not need to travel Belize, Mexico, Africa, or Costa Rica for tarpon; they’re right here in Florida. And if you’re patient, they’ll scoot up the west coast where you will continue to have some excellent sight fishing and also north, up the east coast, where they’ll show, but there will only be more limited sight casting opportunities.

Possibly, the best sight casting for tarpon opportunity is in the Florida Keys

The sight fishing in Belize, Mexico, Costa Rica, and The Bahamas is not as good as in Florida. Yes, you can spot them there, but I’ve ever seen or heard of anybody witnessing them daisy chaining, thought to be a pre-spawn ritual. That has been witnessed many times in the Keys. But strangely, only ocean side?

Brine Media: “A killer full-length episode of Silver Kings is now live with tarpon action in the Florida Keys out of Islamorada.

It’s late spring, and the tarpon arrived in Islamorada. Bou fishes with his friend and artist Jorge Martinez (The Fly Shop of Miami). He’s also paired with the new host of Silver Kings, Captain Jared Raskob.”
