[dropcap]I[/dropcap]f you live in the eastern half of the US and can hop on a cheap round trip to Orlando – go. The ICAST/IFTD in Orlando, Florida, starts today and if you can find accommodations reasonably close to the Orange County Convention Center (north of $200) and afford the hefty entrance fee; you will be glad you attended.

This year is the last year of that the ICAST/IFTD show will be combined and held in the east. Next year, and after that, the fly fishing portion of ICAST, International Fly Tackle Dealers (IFTD), will showcase in Denver, Colorado – 2019.

This years vendor list is smaller than last year, which was smaller the 2016’s list. Many vendors, especially smaller company representatives, expressed that low attendance, the high cost of displaying and being in Orlando the reasons for this year’s absence. All seemed optimistic about Denver.

That said, if you are looking for what is new in the outdoor fishing industry as a whole, you will be thrilled.
