Conserving riverine salmonoids with paintbrushes

By Skip Clement

Thom Glace uses his talents as one of the world’s best-known watercolorists to support trout conservation at Yellow Breeches, one of our nation’s most iconic rivers and a productive source of Oncorhynchus, Salmo, and Salvelinus.

Note: Yellow Breeches Creek, also known as Callapatscink Creek, Callapatschink Creek, or Shawnee Creek, is sourced from South Mountain and rambles 56 miles as a tributary of the Susquehanna River in central Pennsylvania. There has yet to be an agreed-upon explanation for Yellow Breeches Creek, found in land warrants as early as 1736.

Thom, a lifelong fly fisher, believes anglers who do not support riverine conservation matters are tantamount to profligate or, at the very least, selfish.

Thom also Glace knows college basketball well, fly fishing for trout even better, mixing watercolors, and illustrating game fish; he is renowned. Read more here . . .
