[dropcap]D[/dropcap]an Sharley was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee.  He was born into a fishing family, with grandfathers who first introduced him to bluegill fishing on the Kankakee River in Illinois. As the obsession grew, so did the scope of his masterful art.

Largely a self taught artist, Dan works mostly with watercolors. His work is inspired by his surroundings and activities:

“I paint because it’s just what I do, and I’m very grateful others enjoy it, too. My greatest satisfaction comes from working with a customer on a commissioned piece, and seeing their eyes light up when I deliver the finished painting.”

Over the past several years, his artwork has been featured in galleries throughout the south.  Currently, his website provides a good look at many of my original paintings and all of my limited-edition giclee prints, while you can also purchase prints from Shallowfish.com.
