Fly fishing hooks

It’s a great fly, but it keeps picking up gunk. “Just add a weed guard to it?”

It seldom happens and is not often the fix needed. Still, when it is required, your window of opportunity would surely pass if you do not know how to add a weed guard to an already completed fly and incorporate a loop of mono into the pattern itself.

“Go to the truck and tie a new fly with a weed guard and come back.” Yeah, sureĀ

Here are two after the fact of needing one comes into play. The one by Brad Lowman is for tarpon, redfish, and snook fly fishing.

The second video by Tim Flagler less challenging and my go to.
